Please note: as I get my business running, I am keeping track of turnaround times so will update FAQs with SLAs & timelines, formal guidelines on proofing and requested edits and how those impact timelines, and policies regarding refunds and returns. Please note that returns are not available for custom art, but I’d love for you to be happy with the product so please reach out with any feedback!
Product FAQs
Can you explain the 3 style versions?
Sure! Also check out the product’s photos for a comparison of all 3 versions in one image.
The first, a simple sketch in black and white, is your simplest option. Includes a simple sketch of your pets with limited shading (e.g. major spots on your pet, eyes). If your pet is all brown or black, for example, and you choose this option, you’ll receive a sketch outlining your pet (versus being filled in). This is a great option if your pet is mostly white, too, and requires minimal shading anyways. If you choose this option but want to also highlight your pet’s beautiful blue eyes (or whichever color), just include that note in “Additional Requests” in the add to cart form!
The second, a full sketch in black and white, is the next level up. Includes full shading and textures for your pets.
The third, a full sketch in color, has shading, textures, and colors. The level of effort between #2 and #3 is actually the same on my end, so there is no price difference!
Submitting your pet photos - what are the best photos to send?
Each and every pet is unique, and each has unique proportions. Try to send a capture that captures the most amount of their body visible so that I can get proportions right! If you’d like just a headshot portrait, send in a picture that has them looking the way you’d like them to in the portrait (e.g. head on, to the side, etc.). For full body, again any photos that capture the majority of their body are great! If you’re still looking for guidance, my best recommendation is to send me a photo of your pet in their most natural position (maybe sitting and looking at you for a dog or cat, a beautiful headshot of your pig, your chicken in full sprint). You can always email me at shop@ruenoelle with your ideas and to get my recommendations!
Best photo options for the DUO pet portrait?
Send a few photos of your pets together! That way I can best capture their proportions in relation to each other.
Can you add names for my pets?
Yes! When filling out the form after you “add to cart”, make a note in your additional requests! I’d likely do a simple script of your pets’ names below the drawing but feel free to make a specific placement request and font style.
Can you do any pet?
All pets are welcome! I have had dogs my whole life so they were my obvious first subjects. Send in your pet chicken, pig, horse, cat, etc : )
Do DUO portraits need to be the same animal?
Nope! If you have a rabbit and a dog, and you want them together, bring it on. If you have photos of them together, great, otherwise try to give me your best description of their size in relation to each other.
I’m looking for more. I’m more of a maximalist person. Do you have any options?
COMING SOON! I’ll soon have a product for this on my site. Feel free to email in the meantime (shop@ruenoelle.com) that you’re interested in a multi-pet MAXIMALIST option!
I’ve changed my mind and want one portrait for each pet.
Sounds good! Use the links below to make your selections for each style.
