Custom Pet Portrait - The Minimalist

from $60.00

Capture your pet with a simple but beautiful portrait. With “The Minimalist” custom pet portrait, you’ll receive a full sketch of your (or your friends and family’s!) beloved pet.

Choose from full color or black & white. Both versions will give you full shading and texture, so it’s just a style preference!

You can also choose from a thick matte cardstock or fine art giclee watercolor paper, which uses archival quality inks for a fine art finish. Note that selecting the watercolor finish will add $4-$11 to your total depending on print size.

PLEASE NOTE: your customization options will be gathered when you click “Customize & Add to Cart”. Please have the following selections ready, or open this product page in another tab so you can refer back without losing your inputs.

  • Your pet’s name & info

  • Additional Requests - use this for any other requests you have and I’ll do my best to accomodate!

After purchasing, please send an email with a photo (or photos) of your pet to shop@ruenoelle.com. Guidelines on best photos to send can be found in additional details below.

Product FAQs

Why are black & white and color options priced the same?

I spend the same amount of time on the print, doing shading, fur, and texture, so the level of effort between the two is the same.

Can you give more details on what the Simple Sketch is vs. The Minimalist?

The Simple Sketch is essentially a black and white outline of your pet. This includes some basic shading. You’ll get all of their features — nose, eyes, ears, mouth, etc. It’s the most basic version of Rue Noelle’s custom pet portraits, and the quickest to produce so you should typically receive a Simple Sketch in a quicker timeline than The Minimalist or The Maximalist. The Minimalist is a step up from the Simple Sketch, in which I’ll spend a lot of time sketching your pet’s full fur and texture. This takes a good amount of time and care to get your pet right so there are separate products for those who might just want the most basic, simple verion versus those who are looking for a full sketch.

Submitting your pet photos - what are the best photos to send?

Each and every pet is unique, and each has unique proportions. Try to send a capture that captures the most amount of their body visible so that I can get proportions right! If you’d like just a headshot portrait, send in a picture that has them looking the way you’d like them to in the portrait (e.g. head on, to the side, etc.). For full body, again any photos that capture the majority of their body are great! If you’re still looking for guidance, my best recommendation is to send me a photo of your pet in their most natural position (maybe sitting and looking at you for a dog or cat, a beautiful headshot of your pig, your chicken in full sprint). You can always email me at shop@ruenoelle with your ideas and to get my recommendations!

Can you add my pet’s name?

Yes! When filling out the form after you “add to cart”, make a note in your additional requests! I’d likely do a simple script of your pet’s name below the drawing but feel free to make a specific placement request and font style.

Can you do any pet?

All pets are welcome! I have had dogs my whole life so they were my obvious first subjects. Send in your pet chicken, pig, horse, cat, etc : )

I’m looking for more. I’m more of a maximalist person. Do you have any options?

So glad you asked. See my product “Pet Portrait - The Maximalist”.

I’m looking for something less. Do you have any options?

Yes! I have a simple sketch - see my product “Pet Portrait - Simple Sketch”.

Do you have frames?

I’m looking into it! Researching and testing high quality frames that won’t break the budget.

I have more questions!

Please find more info on Rue Noelle’s “FAQ” page, and don’t hesitate to email shop@ruenoelle.com if you have any other design ideas, requests, or questions!
